Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Young Africans Technology (YATA), registration number 2023 / 866390 / 08, runs free technology education and academic support programmes. This policy explains how information is used when you visit our website, contact us, or apply to a programme.
Information you provide
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, subject, and message. These details are sent to YATA by email so we can respond to your enquiry. If you contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp, or social media, you also share information through that service.
Programme registration opens an external form hosted through Monday.com. The information requested depends on the programme and may include learner, parent or guardian, subject, and contact details. We use programme information to coordinate applications, tutoring, and communication with families and volunteers.
Children and learner information
A parent or guardian should complete registration for a learner under 18. Please provide only the information needed for the application or enquiry. Avoid sending identity documents, medical details, or other sensitive information through the general contact form. Contact YATA directly to discuss a learner's needs or a question about permission to use a learner's information or photograph.
Website services and storage
The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam. This service may process technical information about your browser, device, and interaction with the site. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Hosting and service providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect the website. The administrator area uses browser storage and authentication cookies to maintain authorised sign-in.
External registration, payment, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and other social media services have their own privacy policies. Review those policies before sharing information. These providers may process information outside South Africa.
Use, access, and retention
We use information to answer enquiries, coordinate education programmes, support learners, and administer the website. Programme coordination may require sharing relevant details with the coordinators or tutors involved. Service providers also process information as part of delivering forms, email, security, hosting, or payments.
Contact us to ask what information YATA holds about you or a child in your care, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We will consider your request in light of programme administration and any applicable record-keeping requirements. Please do not include sensitive documents in your first enquiry.
